Nyla Hassell
Leadership Coach | Team Development Facilitator
I'm a leadership coach for changemakers and mission-driven organizations across the public and private sector who believe people and performance are not competing priorities.
Long before I became a coach, I was studying what sets exceptional leaders and teams apart.
Over the course of my career, I saw the same pattern repeat itself: the most difficult leadership challenges were rarely technical.
More often, they came down to trust, communication, self-awareness, and the ability to bring people together around a shared purpose.
Before coaching, I spent more than 20 years building and leading high-performing teams across strategic communications and marketing, in-house at Red Bull and on the agency side for global brands including Nike and Nestlé.
In my final years at Red Bull, I led a multi-year transformation that included strengthening inclusive leadership practices, embedding social impact into brand strategy, and launching the company's first employee resource groups. I was often the "first" or the "only" in the room, and I've made it my mission to ensure I'm not the last.
Today, I'm an ICF-credentialed (ACC) coach and a Gallup-certified CliftonStrengths® practitioner, coaching leaders one-on-one and facilitating team development workshops designed to build trust, improve communication, and help people do their best work together. I also continue to advise organizations on marketing and communications strategy, which keeps my work grounded in the realities leaders navigate inside complex systems.
My clients include leaders from global brands and organizations across CPG, media, entertainment, and mission-driven sectors.
The leaders I've admired most weren't necessarily the loudest voice in the room or the person with the biggest title. They were the ones who built trust, created clarity, and inspired confidence when the path forward wasn't entirely clear.
On a personal note, I'm an LA native with Louisiana Creole roots and have an enduring curiosity about people, places, and different ways of seeing the world.
When I'm not coaching or facilitating, you'll likely find me enjoying a matcha while listening to music or an audiobook, playing outdoors, dominating my family at Jeopardy!, or debating whether to have Creole, Japanese, or Mexican food for dinner.
Travel has taken me to six continents and counting, and every experience has reinforced my belief that our lives become richer when we're willing to step outside our own perspective. It builds empathy, expands what's possible, and deepens our appreciation for the experiences and stories that shape other people's lives.
If your role has gotten bigger, the decisions feel heavier, and you could use a strategic thought partner, let's talk.
